Because the Discovery Pico  can generate 4 wavelengths, unlike cheaper clinics, Face of Medical is able to remove any tattoo colour.

During your consultation, your clinician will indicate the number of treatments required to achieve your desired outcome. If your tattoo removal does not achieve the outcomes we agreed at the outset, then you can continue to receive tattoo treatments for FREE for a period of 12 months from date of last treatment.

This is a difficult question to answer accurately as everyone’s tattoo, immune system and skin is different. From our experience, the average number of laser treatments to fully remove a tattoo is between six and 12 sessions. Many factors can reduce or increase this range, these include:

  • The amount of ink in your tattoo (more ink = more treatments)
  • Layers of ink (more layers = more treatments)
  • Your skin type (fairer skin = less treatments)
  • The location of the tattoo on your body

Each laser tattoo removal treatment session takes less than five minutes and we like to space them six to eight weeks apart.

Our team of expert Technicians recognise that to achieve optimal results, there is much to consider upon completion of your treatment. With this in mind, we ensure that each client receives a comprehensive explanation of how to support and promote recovery.

In addition to guidance and education, each client will receive a Tattoo Removal Aftercare package to take home so that they can correctly and effectively tend to the treated area and support the recovery process. We will also follow up with you post treatment.

We find that our clients appreciate our aftercare process and follow up.

After every session, big or small, our tattoo removal specialist will provide you with post-care instructions and check in with you via email to see how you are healing. If any questions or concerns arise, we are available to help you.

Once your treatment is finished, you may experience what’s known as hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation – a darkening or lightening of the skin respectively. This is due to the laser changing not only the composition of the tattoo ink, but the melatonin in your skin.

Your skin will go back to a normal colour within 6 to 12 months after your treatments.
